About the Sea Grill
The adventure began in 2010 when a young lad from Húsavík won the title of Chef of the Year.

Gústav Axel Gunnlaugsson has been fascinated by cooking since childhood and his big dream was always to have his own restaurant.

He visited every nook and cranny in Iceland to find the right grill mix.

Gústav has acquired knowledge of Icelandic barbecue culture and searched for the right Icelandic ingredients.

The old ice house in Flatey á Skjálfanda has now partially arrived in Reykjavík and its corrugated iron plates have found a new home, together with driftwood from Héðinsfjörður, and shelter visitors at Sjávargrillin, Skólavörðustíg 14.

Gústav has designed a menu that is both uniquely Icelandic and international.
